VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

FREE GEEK MICHIANA is 100% volunteer run. Volunteers meet every Tuesday evening at the lab in the Salvation Army church in South Bend from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and at our warehouse every Thursday evening at the same time.

• Helping with FreeBox classes
• Building computers
• Taking computers apart
• Taking inventory
• Installing software
• Creating databases
• Storing equipment
• Writing grants
• System administration
• Teaching/mentoring
• Client/volunteer coordination
• Donation coordination

Volunteers earn credits toward FREE GEEK education classes. Volunteers also earn credits to receive discounts on computer hardware.

How You Can Help

FREE GEEK Michiana needs computer systems to refurbish and distribute.

Please drop off your donated equipment at the:

• Salvation Army Corps in South Bend, IN
• Tuesdays, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM
• Driving directions

Remember there is a $15 recycling fee for all monitors, no exceptions.

FREE GEEK Michiana accepts whatever computer equipment you bring us. However, if your computer equipment is older than a Pentium or Mac PowerPC, or, if it is broken, we appreciate a cash donation to cover processing.
