Unofficial Minutes of the Free Geek Michiana Board of Directors and Council Meeting, May 26, 2009

Our warehouse benefactor recently purchased a new plant and will vacate their leased space in the Studebaker Business Center sometime this summer. We were informed there is no space in our benefactor's new plant for our operations.

So far, we have not found a new donor or new space so we outlined a 4 week plan to dramatically reduce our inventory. We assumed that we must vacate the Chippewa plant by July 30, in 9 weeks. In the worst case, we must vacate in 4 weeks.

Goals

1. Recycle as much as possible.
2. Start to identify what we want to keep.
3. Sell computer systems if there is time.
4. Clean out P2 boxes at AOM and replace with material we want to keep.
5. Stop accepting new donations.
6. Stop making new comittments of FreeBoxes.

Timeline

Week 1

• Prepare initial material to donate to Dell Reconnect at Goodwill.
• Stop accepting new donations unless P4 or better.
• Stop making new obligations to distribute FreeBoxes to organizations and individuals.
• Ask Salvation Army whether they can store material for us.
• Recycle at Gertrude and Winer.
• Trash plastic.

Week 2

• Arrange delivery of material from week 1 to Reconnect at Goodwill.
• Count P4 boxes.
• Estimate number of peripherals to keep for P4 boxes.
• Locate storage for computer lab equipment.
• Finish identifying what we want to keep.
• Make hard drive drilling fixture.
• Recycle at Gertrude and Winer.

Week 3

• Arrange delivery of material from week 2 to Reconnect at Goodwill.
• Contact Grace Community Center regarding the computer lab.
• Contact South Bend City economic development office.
• Test P4 systems.
• Recycle bad P4 systems or donate to Reconnect at Goodwill.
• Recycle at Gertrude and Winer.

Week 4

• Continue to test P4 boxes.
• Arrange delivery of P2 boxes at AOM and material from week 3 to Dell Reconnect at Goodwill.
• Begin drilling hard drives preparatory to recycling them.
• Recycle at Gertrude and Winer.
• Trash plastic.
• Review and adjust plan.
