Minutes of Free Geek Michiana Board of Directors Meeting, October 7, 2003

I. Call to Order

The meeting was held at the Salvation Army Corps Fellowship Hall in South Bend, IN, on Tuesday, October 7, 2003. Volunteers present were Michael Cook, Olin Zuercher, Otto Schlatter and Thomas Brown. Tom called the meeting to order at 6:00 PM.

II. New Business

FGM is now incorporated. Our bylaws call for at least an annual meeting of the board of directors, no later than the end of October of each year. So the core volunteers held the first annual board meeting at the lab.

We wished Goose could have been present. Jim Muncy wanted to attend, but he works and takes classes at IUSB on Tuesdays.

The core volunteers will serve as the initial directors of FGM. The bylaws call for a board president, secretary and treasurer. We elected Tom as president and Jay as secretary/treasurer. Tom reminded the directors that, as the initial board, our primary duty is to recruit other board members and replace ourselves within one year. Tom asked the board to think about names of potential board members and bring the names to the next board meeting. Olin had to leave shortly after this point.

III. Next Board Meeting

Because there was much to do at the lab, the directors voted to adjourn the session and continue the board meeting on Tuesday, October 21, 2003, at the Salvation Army Corps in South Bend, IN. The meeting will start at 6:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall.

IV. Adjournment

The meeting adjourned at 7:00 PM.
